MUFASA: THE LION KING -- Doubling Down

MUFASA: THE LION KING -- Doubling Down

Some time after the events of the previous film, Simba must once again take care of Nala, who is pregnant. He entrusts his daughter Kiara to the monkey Rafiki, who tells the lion girl the story of his grandfather. As a child, Mufasa was separated from his parents and rescued by a lion named Taka. Years later, as heir to the throne, he finds himself in danger. The White Lion wants to seize power. Mufasa and Taka then go on the run. You can stream this movie on Afdah Tv.

Director Barry Jenkins sets out to dismantle some of the certainties of the first film. Mufasa is not of royal blood, but was initially adopted by a ruling family as a lion cub, making him the brother of the previously only hawk. Known as Scar - the despicable villain of the original animated film and the remake.

Mufasa: The Lion King wants to focus on the relationship between the two big cats, who get along well at first, but then loses the necessary thoroughness. As a result, the emotional turning points are less impactful than intended. The little humorous interludes by Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog, who punctuate the story told by Rafiki with occasional flashbacks, don't add much value. But the visuals of the Disney musical, which was largely created on a computer, are impressive once again. Animals and landscapes are a constant source of amazement.
